Steps to enable and manage user-generated content on a publisher Web venue.

  • Publisher hosts VP Venue templates on its own server under its own domain name.

    No database or code integration required.

  • Publisher venue displays upload link for users.
  • Users register and log in on publisher venue.

    Optional: If user registrations are set to require moderation, publisher reviews and approves user registration requests.

  • Users enter info and upload files.
  • Publisher receives e-mail notifications (optional) to review and approve user uploads in VISUALPLANT Admin.
  • Once approved, user uploads appear as a "titles" on publisher site, — searchable, browsable and watchable.
  • By default user-generated content gets segregated to "Community" area, but may be mixed with "Editorial content."
  • Publisher may promote power-users to editorial status with access to manage and publish content.
